FREE Family Literacy Workshop

Join us for an inspiring 3-weekend event that brings families together to support early childhood literacy, a foundation that will empower children for a lifetime of learning and success. This workshop is FREE and designed for parents of young children eager to learn how to make reading a fun and rewarding experience at home. There will be 2 cohorts, one in English and one in Spanish.

  • English Cohort Dates: 2/1, 2/22, 3/8 in 2025

  • Spanish Cohort Dates: 2/8, 3/1, 3/8 in 2025

  • Time: 11am - 1:30pm each session

  • Location: Arts Clayton Gallery, 136 South Main Street, Jonesboro, GA 30236

  • Who Should Attend: Parents and caregivers of children grades K-5

  • Low-cost childcare, catered free lunch, and free books

  • Cost: Free for parents. Childcare is $3/child. 2 children max per household. Children must be ages 4-11 and potty trained.

What To Expect

Hands-On Literacy Activities: Engaging sessions where parents will learn fun ways to bring reading to life at home.

• Lunch and Childcare Provided: Parents and children will be provided lunch in their respective classes. Children will complete a literacy-themed art project.

• Free Resources: Families will leave with tools and tips to foster literacy at home, including books to read together.

• Community Connections: Meet other families and local literacy advocates who are passionate about supporting young readers.
